The History of BT forklift

  BT warehouse equipment can be safely described as a Japanese brand of European origin. In the best traditions of the Far Eastern quality, various models of this brand were improved and successfully brought to the market, including electric forklifts for all cases of warehouse life.

Warehouse equipment BT: a bit of history

Loader BT. The brand of warehouse equipment BT is inextricably linked with the well-known Japanese company Toyota. At the current time, this trademark (as well as the Toyota warehouse equipment brand) is owned by Toyota Industries Corporation.

The Toyota Material Handling Group (TMHG) was formed to manage the warehouse equipment production of these two divisions. At the same time, its regional division Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) oversees all issues related specifically to the BT brand.

The year 1946 is considered to be the date of establishment of the VT. And in 1948, the world saw the first BT hand pallet truck. Beginning in 1954, the first service centers of this trade association began to operate in Sweden. This was followed (1968) by the opening of a plant in the Swedish city of Mölby, the release of the first BT model with semi-automated control (1978) and the development of the first 48 volt reach truck (1983). And since 2000, BT Industries has become part of the Toyota group of companies.

VT electric forklifts

In the assortment list of the company, you can choose 2 types of loaders: electric and with internal combustion engines.

In turn, electric models are represented by the BT Cargo E series. The main power source for these loaders are traction batteries with a capacity of 24 to 80 volts. The involvement of machines in the electric type is indicated by the presence of the letter “E” in the marking.

Analyzing the technical characteristics of these models, one can see a direct relationship between their carrying capacity and the capacity of the batteries used. The main features of this range of loading and unloading equipment are as follows:

Existence of 3 basic series - model E2. This model is positioned as such, the optimal use of which is associated with operation in confined spaces. This is the only model that runs on a 24 volt traction battery. The use of this loader is possible with relatively small loads (1.0-1.5t);

In the case of intense loads, the developers of the BT brand offer to purchase the E4 and E6 models. The BT Cargo E4 loader is a transitional version with a 48-volt battery capable of lifting a load of 1,500 - 2,000 kg. It comes in both 3- and 4-pole versions;

The main feature of the E6 series is the ability to choose 2 of its configurations: for heavy loads and multiple lifting cycles, as well as a variety of this model for working in critically narrow inter-shelf and inter-corridor openings;

Model BT Cargo E8 is positioned by the developer as a self-propelled loading mechanism that can cope with heavy operating conditions. And indeed, everything is to the maximum here: 4 supports, a battery for 80V, a load capacity of up to 5,000 kg, a lifting height of almost 8 m.

So, the warehouse equipment brand BT offers a high-quality list of electric forklifts (and not only) that are applicable to a wide variety of operating conditions.
