The History of Kubota harvester

The history of KUBOTA Corporation dates back to 1890, when a factory was founded to manufacture cast metal products. Their release continued until 1922, which was marked by the start of the production of oil-based motors. At the same time, the production of fuel economizers and heat-resistant cast iron was opened.

The first combine harvester in the industry, realized thanks to the integration of a wide field of Kubota research

The Dynamax Revo harvester with a yield sensor has caused a real sensation among farmers around the world. The company launched the Kubota Smart Agri System (KSAS), a support service that uses data collected by harvesters with yield sensors.

Farm managers, field workers and the Kubota service department are connected through this system in real time. The system can instantly receive operating records and control data, and share the operating status of equipment. Its strength lies in its two-way communication, where an on-site worker can make changes to work plans based on the day's field conditions, providing feedback to a central station, enabling flexible farm operations. Today, KSAS continues to improve so that farmers can increase profits, grow high-value crops and run competitive farms.

In Japan, where the population is aging, while the number of farmers is decreasing and the area covered by each farmer is expanding, there is a labor supply problem. To overcome the difficulty of hiring skilled workers, Kubota's next strategy was to create unmanned machines. Kubota introduced tractors, rice planting machines and grain harvesters with built-in automatic control functions to farmers. Machines that autonomously cultivate, plant and harvest are the ideal future of agriculture. Today, Kubota continues to develop the latest technologies for the next generation of machines to realize labor savings, high precision and efficient farming.

In the year of the next anniversary, in the 12th year of our century, the new corporate principles of Kubota Corporation and the motto were announced: “For the Earth. For Life”, reflecting the approach to its activities aimed at improving the lives of people and the whole society.
