History AMW

AMW Motors Ltd. (AMW/Asia Motor Works) - began producing trucks in 2005. The company's plant in Bhuj, Gujarat, has its own design and testing laboratories, assembly line and warehouses for finished products. This allows us to provide customers with comprehensive services - from design development to the dispatch of finished trucks.

The company recently acquired operations in Mysore in southern India that manufacture bridges and other forged parts. AMW also manufactures components for the automotive and machine industries. Asia Motor Works can produce up to 15 million wheels, making it the largest plant in Asia in this area. The company also manufactures a number of components for some of the world's well-known manufacturers (primarily for its Indian competitors). AMW's service network of more than 60 branches indicates that the company is serious about increasing its market share in the heavy commercial vehicle market in India.

The only truck range currently produced by the company includes 25 and 31 ton three- and four-axle dump trucks, chassis and concrete mixers, as well as two and three-axle 40 and 49 ton truck tractors. Trucks are equipped with Cummins B5.9 engines that meet BS3 (Euro III) standards, with a capacity of 180 or 235 hp. and 8-speed ZF gearboxes. The cab is produced at the company's factories, but according to the drawings of the old Mitsubishi Fuso cab, or rather its Chinese counterpart (namely FAW). Both low and high roof options are available.

In 2012, a new generation of heavy trucks was introduced. The new 49-ton AMW 4928 TR new generation truck tractor received a new cab (similar to the Volvo FM cab) and a 267 hp Cummins diesel engine. with a common rail system, which is paired with a 9-speed Eaton gearbox. A 25-ton AMW 2528 TR dump truck of the new generation was also demonstrated.

But the new generation remained in the form of running layouts. Apparently the company does not have the necessary amount of funds to mass-produce a new generation of trucks, although AMW is the third largest manufacturer of heavy commercial vehicles in India.
